Some designs whisper; others make a statement. The Pall Beach Pool House does both. Inspired by the clean lines and functional elegance of Bauhaus architecture, this striking poolside retreat is defined by its geometric precision and refined simplicity. Constructed from hot-dip galvanised, powder-coated steel, it features large glass panels arranged in perfect symmetry.
Finished in Farrow & Ball’s Green Smoke, a soft grey-green that blends seamlessly into natural surroundings, the Pall Beach is both subtle and bold. Measuring 6 metres in width and standing 6 metres high to the peak of its gilded rooftop sphere, the structure’s proportions are as carefully considered as its materials. The sphere itself has a diameter of 45cm, while the building’s depth extends 4 metres, making it a balanced yet commanding presence in any outdoor setting.
The Pall Beach Pool House is more than just a place to store towels and poolside essentials—it is architecture with intent. Its signature stepped roof consists of progressively narrower tiers that rise towards the central, gold-leafed sphere. This design creates a sense of movement, drawing the eye upward while maintaining a refined, structured look.
Echoing this tiered aesthetic, the window and door frames feature subtle, stepped recesses, reinforcing the building’s verticality. These precise architectural elements wrap around all four sides, enhancing the strong, geometric presence of the structure. The effect is a pool house that is both disciplined and elegant—an effortless blend of minimalism and quiet grandeur
The Pall Beach Pool House, like many before it, is more than a functional addition—it is a reflection of leisure, luxury, and architectural ambition. Historically, pool houses were designed not just as changing facilities or storage spaces, but as visual centrepieces that underscored the exclusivity of having a private pool.
In the early 20th century, as swimming pools became a hallmark of upscale estates, the pool house evolved into an architectural statement. In literature and film, it became synonymous with a life of sun-drenched leisure, indulgence, and the occasional hint of intrigue. The pool boy, ever present in cultural depictions, symbolised the divide between privilege and aspiration, turning the poolside setting into a stage for themes of freedom, attraction, and social contrast.
Today, the Pall Beach continues this tradition, offering more than just a practical retreat—it is a space designed for quiet moments, lively gatherings, and everything in between. Whether used as a shaded escape from the midday sun or as an intimate venue for evening cocktails, it stands as both a functional space and a testament to timeless design.
